What a dumb fuck. kitkatpecson: Someone named Nhoy Tasara thought it would be funny to hook and snag a dolphin and then pose with it for Facebook. His post was set to public and as of 12:00 AM it has 155 shares, all from justifiably outraged people. One of his comments reads, “hndi aman p0h kc pnakawalan dn namen agad eh”, which means something like “it’s okay, we released it afterward”.  The thing is, it is not okay. I am sure that the poor dolphin sustained an injury after this incident. I wonder if they ensured its safety and well-being.  It is also not okay to treat animals disrespectfully. I looked through the other photos in his album and they, along with his account description, indicate that he is a sailor. The dolphin could have been part of the bycatch, which would mean that its injury was an accident.  Still, taking pictures and posing with the dolphin reveals a negative and careless attitude toward animals. As stewards of the earth, it’s our job to take care of other species and not to subject them to cruelty and harsh treatment. I understand that bycatch (sharks, dolphins) can’t be avoided sometimes, but if fishermen legitimately respected animals, then their efforts could decrease the chance of such incidents happening.
